Where you want the property to act as well as understand, the searchlight, siren and voice come from PerimeterEye and work alongside whatever is already mounted. Compatibility is confirmed per property before anything is quoted.

The Short Answer
Yes, in most cases. PerimeterEye Upgrade puts the PerimeterEye Brain on your network and points it at the cameras you already own. You keep the hardware you paid for; you gain contextual AI analysis, Intelligent Events that group what several cameras saw into one written event, daily briefings, hour-by-hour analysis, and plain-language search across the footage.
Compatibility depends on the existing cameras and the network, and it is confirmed for your property before anything is quoted. If your cameras cannot carry it, we will tell you that before you pay rather than after.
Three Ways to Upgrade What You Already Have
Upgrade: Intelligence — $2,299. The PerimeterEye Brain and the full intelligence layer on your existing cameras: contextual analysis, Intelligent Events, cross-camera understanding, daily briefings, hour-by-hour analysis, plain-language search. No deterrence hardware at this tier — it understands, it does not act. It can be prepaid annually at $999 instead of $99/mo.
Upgrade: Defense — $3,499. Everything in Intelligence, plus one motorized tracking searchlight, one 130 dB siren and strobe, and targeted AI voice warnings. This is the first tier where something physically happens on the property.
Upgrade: Complete — $3,999. Everything in Defense, plus the wall panel command center and the PerimeterEye Access doorbell intercom. Everything PerimeterEye does, minus the new cameras.
What Your Cameras Can and Cannot Do
The intelligence layer works on almost any usable video. Reading a scene, classifying who is in it, tracking an event across several cameras, and writing it up does not require our hardware — it requires a clear enough picture.
Response is different. A tracking searchlight has to be a PerimeterEye searchlight, because the system drives its motors. Targeted voice needs a speaker the AI can actually speak through, so on a mixed system the voice comes from PerimeterEye hardware rather than your existing cameras. That is why Defense and Complete add our own deterrence hardware rather than trying to borrow yours.
Night performance is the honest caveat. If your current cameras are poor after dark, the analysis inherits that — the AI can only read what the camera captured. On properties where the night footage is weak, adding a small number of 4K PerimeterEye cameras at the approaches usually does more than anything else.
When a Complete System Is the Better Buy
A complete system starts at $4,499 for Essential — five 4K AI cameras, a tracking searchlight, a siren and strobe, the Access intercom, the wall panel and the Brain. Against Upgrade: Complete at $3,999, that is $500 for five purpose-matched cameras, which is the cheapest part of any PerimeterEye order and the part that most improves what the AI can see.
If your cameras are recent, well-placed and good at night, Upgrade is the sensible buy. If they are aging, badly sited, or blind after dark, the $500 step to a complete system is usually the better decision — and you can keep the old cameras running alongside if you want the extra angles.
What You Do With the Old Cameras
Nothing, if you do not want to. They stay where they are and keep doing what they do, with PerimeterEye reading them.
Owners who move to a complete system often keep the originals on secondary angles — sheds, side returns, interior spaces — where coverage is useful but response is not. Nothing has to come off the wall for PerimeterEye to work.
Questions about use existing cameras with perimetereye
Can I connect my Ring, Nest, or other existing cameras to PerimeterEye?
Many existing IP cameras work. Closed consumer ecosystems that do not expose a usable stream to anything outside their own app are the common exception, and Ring and Nest often fall into that group. We check your specific cameras during the property review and tell you before you buy.
What does PerimeterEye Upgrade cost?
Upgrade: Intelligence is $2,299, Upgrade: Defense is $3,499, and Upgrade: Complete is $3,999, each with the $99/mo software and AI subscription after activation. Intelligence can be prepaid annually at $999 instead of the monthly subscription.
Do I have to take down my current cameras?
No. With Upgrade they stay and become the system's eyes. Even if you move to a complete system, your existing cameras can stay up on secondary angles — nothing has to be removed.
Will the searchlight and voice work with my cameras?
The searchlight and the voice hardware are PerimeterEye equipment, because the system drives the motors and speaks through the speakers. They are included in Upgrade: Defense and Upgrade: Complete, and they work alongside your existing cameras rather than replacing them.
Do I own the cameras and hardware?
Yes — all of it, outright, in every package and every Upgrade tier. The $99/mo subscription after activation covers the software and AI, not equipment rental, and there is no contract. Financing is available through Klarna or Affirm at checkout, and the hardware is yours from day one either way.
Does a fully matched system guarantee nothing gets missed?
No — no security system can guarantee prevention of every incident, and a matched camera set does not change that. What it changes is the odds: coverage is planned rather than accumulated, night performance is known rather than hoped for, and every camera can carry its part of the response.
