Each mode changes three things at once: how sensitively the AI scores what it sees, how the deterrence ladder escalates, and what you — and your visitors — hear about it.

Completely off means completely off. The on-site system physically stops accepting camera streams — nothing is watched, nothing is recorded, nothing is stored.

Fully stood down. No spotlight tracking, no voice warnings, no siren — the property stays quiet, period.

No alerts, no greetings, no recordings. The system is dark until you switch it back on.

Cameras keep recording, but everything else stands down — no spotlights, no notifications, no siren, no AI analysis — until you switch back.

A backyard gathering where you want footage just in case, but no analysis, no alerts, and no chance of a spotlight finding your guests.

Detection & sensitivity

Pure passive recording, no analysis. The AI stands down entirely — nothing is classified, scored, or escalated while Quiet mode is active.

Deterrence behavior

Everything off: no spotlight tracking, no voice warnings, no siren. The property records silently and does nothing else.

Greetings & notifications

No notifications at all. Cameras keep recording to the Brain, so live view, instant rewind, and footage stay available whenever you check in.

Large gatherings

Visitor

Reserved for large gatherings and events with lots of expected activity. Cameras can welcome arriving guests and spotlights can guide paths and parking. Routine visitors, workers, and deliveries are handled in Armed mode.

In real life

A large backyard celebration with guests arriving throughout the evening — welcome messages and spotlight-guided parking help coordinate the crowd, with a heads-up when the first guests arrive.

Detection & sensitivity

Reserved for large gatherings and events when you expect lots of people and activity across your property. It adapts to a busy gathering while keeping activity visible. Everyday visitors, cleaners, contractors, and deliveries belong in Armed mode.

Deterrence behavior

Deterrence hardware switches to hospitality: cameras play welcome messages when guests first arrive, and the spotlights can shine to light the way and help coordinate visitor parking.

Greetings & notifications

A first-arrival notification tells you the moment guests show up, and spoken guidance can welcome them or point them the right way. Alerts stay quieter while visitors are on-site.

IncludedPerimeterEye Access lets you answer the door with two-way video and AI visitor screening during gatherings and everyday life; routine intercom use does not require Visitor mode.

Unlike a traditional alarm that needs a manual arm/disarm routine, PerimeterEye is designed to stay in its daily-use mode. Change modes when your plans change, such as hosting a large gathering or wanting more privacy.

Armed is built for daily use. The system learns your property, household routines, familiar vehicles, and delivery patterns. It assesses activity in context, helping distinguish normal arrivals from suspicious behavior without asking you to tell it to stand down for everyday life.

Deterrence behavior

The standard deterrence ladder. Verified suspicious activity engages the tracking spotlight, then a targeted AI voice warning through the camera speakers, with the siren reserved for persistent verified threats. Mail carriers and delivery drivers are recognized — nobody spotlights the mailman.

Greetings & notifications

Routine activity is organized quietly into your timeline — deliveries confirmed, family arrivals logged. Priority alerts are saved for things that actually warrant your attention.

High Alert

For when you don't want anyone on your property right now. Spotlights engage far more freely on anyone who approaches — though the system stays measured before it blares the siren at someone.

A strange car has passed the house three times, or you just don't want anyone coming around right now — High Alert tightens the whole posture without going full lockdown.

For when nobody should be coming by. The AI treats ambiguity with more suspicion — unknown people and vehicles are scored more aggressively, and dwell time counts against them faster.

Deterrence behavior

The spotlight comes off its leash: it engages far more freely on anyone who approaches the property. The system stays measured before the siren, though — it won't blare at someone without real cause.

Greetings & notifications

Alerts are prioritized and pushed with more urgency. Less is quietly filed away — you hear about unknown activity sooner and with fuller context.

Keep everyone off

Maximum Security

Nobody on the property, period — the system does whatever it takes to keep people off. You can still allow routine exceptions like mail or package delivery: just type what should be let through, and the system understands and adapts.

In real life

Away for two weeks, or a night when you have a real reason for concern — lockdown until you say otherwise. Want mail and package delivery to still work? Just type in what should be allowed through, and the system understands and adapts.

Detection & sensitivity

Nobody on the property, period. Every unknown person or vehicle is treated as a potential threat from the first moment — no benefit of the doubt, no friendly assumptions.

Deterrence behavior

The system does whatever it takes to keep people off: immediate spotlight tracking and targeted voice warnings, with the siren standing ready for verified threats. No greetings play in this mode.

Greetings & notifications

Everything unknown generates a priority alert with live video, the AI's assessment, and one-tap response controls. Nothing is quietly filed.

Lots of guests, cars, and movement are expected across the property. Choose Visitor for the event, with optional welcome messages, guest parking guidance, and a heads-up when the first guests arrive.

Keep the property in Armed. Routine visits from cleaners, contractors, and other expected workers are part of everyday life. The system learns your property and recognizes these patterns without you switching to Visitor mode.

How do I change property modes?

One tap on the wall panel or in the iOS app switches the whole property's posture instantly. You can also ask the built-in AI assistant in plain language — for example, “prepare the property for a large gathering.”

What actually changes between modes?

Three things: how sensitively the AI scores detections, how quickly and aggressively the deterrence ladder escalates, and how you're notified — from friendly guest greetings in Visitor mode to immediate priority alerts in Maximum Security.

Does Off mode stop the cameras from recording?

Yes — Off means off. The on-site system physically stops accepting camera streams, so nothing is watched, analyzed, or stored while the property is in Off mode. If you want passive recording with everything else silenced, that's what Quiet mode is for.

Are sirens enabled in every mode?

No. The siren is policy-gated in every mode and disabled entirely in Off. It's reserved for persistent verified threats, engages fastest in Maximum Security, and always has safe-start, a volume clamp, and watchdog auto-stop. You can stop it at any time.

Which mode should I use day to day?

Armed is the daily-use mode. As PerimeterEye learns your property, it recognizes routine arrivals, familiar vehicles, and deliveries while assessing suspicious activity in context. Leave it in Armed at home or away; you do not need to manually arm and disarm it whenever you come and go. Use other modes when the situation calls for it — Visitor for a large gathering with lots of expected activity, High Alert or Maximum Security for heightened protection, and Off or Quiet for privacy.

Do I need to tell the system to stand down when I come home?

No. Armed is designed for everyday life, including coming home and receiving deliveries. The system learns your property and household routines, so you can leave it in Armed instead of following a traditional alarm's manual arm/disarm routine. You still control the mode and can change it whenever you want.

Can I still take manual control in any mode?

Yes. In every mode you can watch live, talk through the cameras, trigger or stop the spotlight and siren, and override any automated response from the wall panel or iOS app.
